Bishop Patrick Chisanga, OFM Conv., Visits the MCESM Generalate Community in Ongata Rongai During the 21st AMECEA Plenary Assembly

Ongata Rongai, Nairobi, Kenya – The Missionary Congregation of the Evangelizing Sisters of Mary (MCESM) was privileged to welcome Bishop Patrick Chisanga, OFM Conv., Bishop of the Diocese of Mansa, Zambia, to its Generalate Community in Ongata Rongai, Nairobi.

Bishop Chisanga was in Kenya to participate in the 21st AMECEA Plenary Assembly and, during his stay in Nairobi, took the opportunity to make a fraternal visit to the MCESM Generalate Community. He was warmly welcomed by the Mother General, Sr. Prof. Jacinta Adhiambo, MCESM, who accompanied him throughout the visit, together with the sisters of the Generalate Community.

The visit was marked by a spirit of prayer, fraternity, and joyful fellowship. Bishop Chisanga shared moments of interaction with the sisters and expressed his deep appreciation for the missionary work of the Evangelizing Sisters of Mary in the Diocese of Mansa. He commended the congregation for its dedicated service in evangelization, education, healthcare, and the holistic development of communities, recognizing the valuable contribution the sisters continue to make in the life and mission of the local Church.

The Bishop also congratulated the Missionary Congregation of the Evangelizing Sisters of Mary as it celebrates 50 years of faithful service to the Church. He acknowledged the congregation's Golden Jubilee as a significant milestone, giving thanks to God for five decades of missionary witness and encouraging the sisters to continue responding generously to Christ's call with renewed zeal and hope.

His visit served as a beautiful sign of the communion that unites the Church across nations and cultures. The encounter strengthened the bonds between the local Church and consecrated life, reflecting the shared mission of proclaiming the Gospel and serving God's people with compassion and love.

The sisters expressed their heartfelt gratitude to Bishop Chisanga for his gracious visit, his words of encouragement, and his appreciation of the congregation's ministry. They assured him of their continued prayers for his episcopal ministry and for the faithful of the Diocese of Mansa.

As the Church in Africa continues to gather for the 21st AMECEA Plenary Assembly, the Evangelizing Sisters of Mary remain committed to their mission of evangelization and service, inspired by their Golden Jubilee theme and grateful for God's abundant blessings over the past fifty years.
