AOSK CHAIRPERSON ELECTION

Congratulations to our Superior General Mother. Prof. Jacinta Adhiambo, MCESM Elected AOSK Chairperson

Nairobi, Kenya – The Association of Sisterhoods in Kenya (AOSK) has elected Sr. Prof. Jacinta Adhiambo, MCESM, as its new Chairperson, succeeding Sr. Dr. Josephine Kangogo, DSH, who has served since 2018.

Before her election, Sr. Prof. Jacinta served as the Association's Vice Chairperson, where she played a key role in advancing the objectives of AOSK and strengthening the voice of women religious in Kenya.

New Leadership Elected

In addition to the Chairperson, two other members were elected to the AOSK Board:

  • Sr. Mary Christine – Provincial of the Sisters of Notre Dame
  • Sr. Mary Rubika – Regional Superior of the Apostolic Carmel

Acceptance Speech & Vision

In her acceptance speech, Sr. Prof. Jacinta expressed her profound gratitude to the members for entrusting her with this responsibility. She promised to work closely with all stakeholders to strengthen AOSK's mission and service to the Church and society.

About AOSK

The Association of Sisterhoods in Kenya (AOSK) is the national umbrella body for all religious sisters in Kenya. It coordinates and promotes the welfare, formation, and collective mission of women religious across the country, working closely with the Kenya Conference of Catholic Bishops (KCCB).

AOSK plays a vital role in:

  • Advocating for the rights and dignity of women and children
  • Facilitating ongoing formation and leadership development
  • Collaborating with other religious and lay organizations in social and pastoral ministry
  • Promoting unity and solidarity among sisterhoods
